Black drape dress

I needed another black dress to wear to the
art theater the other night, so I sewed this

easy McCall's 6069 pattern.
I used a heavy ponte de roma knit
that feels luxurious to wear.

I did a few mods by having the back
drape more than the front,
as I had made this dress a few years back
& was forever pulling up the front
bodice gape.
I also added about 2 inches to the
sleeves.

An easy dress to sew but took me about 4 hours rather
than the 1 hour the pattern claims.
I like this style with the inseam pockets
but I always belt it as
it looks too frumpy without it!

A dollar & a half pattern sale

The fabric store near my house.....I know, I live with in
walking distance.....hence the fabric hoarding problems,
has had a falling out with New Look Patterns & will
no longer stock or carry their patterns.

I found this out by going there to buy thread,
honestly I didn't even look at the Spring fabric
because I have Spring Fabric from 2011 that I must
use first (the fabric in the background)
anyway they are getting rid of
all New Look patterns like
the bubonic plague for $1.50.

I like New Look patterns because they are generally
easy to sew with easy to follow
instructions.

I got..... uummmm...(bow head).....36 new patterns
& some Gutermann thread.

Time for Sew Coco to get sewing
this one first, New Look 6145.

New Look 6022

Another dress completed with my insane amount
of hoarded fabric & I'm not one to hoard anything!

I made a neck scarf to go with,

and for once I used a decorative stitch which
I never seem to use on my machine.

Mini-me is saying no to scarf.

Bias binding neckline hem which turned out ok.

I used New Look 6022 which is a easy pattern to sew.
I like the pleated sleeves & neckline.

Sewing one for the team

I was doing some very easy sewing for the Olympic games,
to get in the spirit & cheer our athletes on.
Vancouver hosted in 2010 & our family
was lucky enough to attend the very
exciting Hockey games.....men's & women's
so I still had my jersey to wear too.

iMade this Canada day skirt out of stretch cotton
& wore it when the girls hockey team won Gold!

Just a couple of days later & we have a beautiful
snowfall & iMade
this white tank top & lined the edges with
the Canadian Flag.....& the men's Hockey team
won Gold too!
Good times.
